Everything Deserves a Second Life
Bawnz is a proudly Filipino community marketplace built in Cebu City, founded as a personal project of Tito Boyet and the Sapong Family of Sapong Group.
Inspired by the belief that many things we no longer need can still bring value, convenience, and happiness to others, Bawnz was created to help people swap, sell, rent, give away, and borrow items in a simpler and more meaningful way.
For us, an item is not just a possession. It carries stories, memories, and possibilities. A book can inspire a new reader. A tool can help someone complete a project. A gadget can continue serving another person. A household item can find a new home.
Every item shared creates an opportunity to reduce waste, help others, and build stronger connections.
More Than a Marketplace
Bawnz is part of the growing movement of recommerce, where pre-owned and underutilized items are given new opportunities through resale, reuse, sharing, and responsible consumption.
By extending the life cycle of products, Bawnz helps promote a more sustainable way of living while making useful items more accessible to more people.
Our mission supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), while contributing to efforts that encourage sustainable communities, reduced waste, and inclusive opportunities for people.
Our Story and Advocacy
Bawnz is built around the Filipino spirit of bayanihan, where sharing, helping, and looking after one another have always been part of our culture.
Beyond connecting people through items, Bawnz hopes to create a community where people can give, receive, and participate in meaningful ways.
This vision continues the advocacy journey of Team Sapong, which has supported initiatives such as the Team Sapong Book Drive and children's feeding activities.
Through Bawnz, we hope to continue and expand these efforts through future community programs, including the Bawnz That Book Program, an initiative that encourages people to share, donate, and pass on books so they can continue inspiring new readers and creating new stories.
